The city of Southampton in Hampshire lies on the south coast of England, at the confluence of the River Test and River Itchen. Archaeological findings indicate human activities back to the Stone Age and Roman ruins from the former settlement Clausentum are still visible.

Rest while having a ride with a ferry and watch the busy port, then have a look inside one of the fantastic art galleries, all with their unique exhibitions. There are many parks for a leisure stroll, and the Southampton Common is maybe the most popular one with a wildlife center, paddling pool, play area and fishing lake. Hire a car in Southampton and tour the surrounding area which should include an extensive hike trough the ‘The New Forest National Park’, where splendid scenery is open up with semi wild ponies, cattle and pigs roaming around. Take a tour to Salisbury and Winchester, both with their outstanding cathedrals and medieval town centers. Another tour could include Portsmouth with its naval heritage and Bournemouth for its beach, shopping and nightlife.
