Hua Hin is a seaside resort city located in Thailand. It is 92km north of Prachuab Khiri Khan and 190km south of Bangkok, the capital of the country. Near Pattaya, Pran Buri, and Sam Roi Yot, the province is where the oldest beach resort area of the country can be found. Generally speaking, the best time to visit Hua Hin is during the summer season. However, Hua Hin has been blessed with being one of the places in Thailand that has the lowest rainfall. This is also the reason why Hua Hin was chosen as the location of the King of Thailand’s summer palace, known as Klai Kang Won. Translated to English, the palace means ‘Far from Worries.’
Once you have made a decision to visit the city of Hua Hin, it is important that you get around and see the beautiful sites offered by this oldest beach resort in Thailand. You can hire a car in Hua Hin to help you go sightseeing, or you can choose to ride in a tuk-tuk, Sawngthaew, or onboard a motorcycle. Another option is to opt for a samlor (rickshaw) ride. Lastly, you can also rent a bicycle so you can get around like a local.
Unlike its neighbour province Pattaya, Hua Hin has a quieter and more relaxed atmosphere. In fact, it is a destination that you should visit with your family. Although Hua Hin is generally a resort city, there are other places of interest that you can visit. Here are other destinations that you should visit in the province:
You can get a car rental in Hua Hin to visit electrifying special events. One of the events held here on a yearly basis is the Jazz Festival, an event which Hua Hin has hosted since 2002. The event is normally held over the first weekend of June and lasts for 2 or 3 days.
With all the beautiful sights to see in Hua Hin, the best way to explore each of them is to drive on your own. This is so you can handle your time carefully and make the most of your trip.
