Appenzell is a village in the Canton of Appenzell-Innerroden and the smallest state in Switzerland. By the way, this was the last Canton which introduced the voting rights to the women in the year 1990! They do still vote openly byraising their right arm in front of the Town Hall. It looks great to see all the real rustic looking women and men in their traditional clothing; you feel back in time to at least one century.
