Paguera refers to a tourist town located in the municipality of Calvia. This is usually in the Island of Majorca which is part and parcel of the autonomous Balearic Islands community. It boasts of three massive beaches as well as multiple hostels, hotels and apartments. The name of the town is derived from the name of the oven tar that is locally produced in this area from the pine tree resin pitch. It lies on the foothills of the Tramuntana chain of mountains. This spot is an exclusive setting in a residential area and hidden by the pine grove. The other popular attraction is the Peguera Palmira beach which is a superb sandy beach that measures 500 meters long and 40 meters wide. It is lined by a palm trees promenade, apartment blocks as well as numerous open air beach bars. All streets in Peguera lead to this beach. Peguera Torà beach refers to an expansive sandy beach that is cut off from Peguera Palmira by the Punta des Carabiners. It measures 190 meters long and 65 meters wide. The Peguera Romana beach is also referred to as the Platja dels Morts which when loosely translated to English means the beach of the dead. It measures 90 meters long and 60 meters wide and features fine pristine white sands which extend to the sea bed. It also has all the amenities that one could possibly need from a beach.
