Lixouri tells the tale of regeneration while retaining its quaint old world charm. It is the capital of the peninsula Paliki, located on the island of Kefalonia, one of the Ionian islands on Greece. The village also has one of the oldest orchestras of Greece, and its inhabitants are famous for their musical capabilities that are best showcased during its lively festivals.
Plateia Petrisi, the main square, offers a great shopping and dining experience. Tourists can also drive to the rustic Greek villages nearby like Athera and Zola.
