The town of Lueneburg lays in Lower Saxony, Germany and officially called the Hanseatic City of Lueneburg. 56 axes and of about 150,000 years old were found in this area, providing evidence of human activity back to the time of Neanderthal Man.

This is just a sample of the astonishing ‘outside museum’ while the several in-house ones are not less attractive. Since Lueneburg had in older times over 80 breweries, a visit to the North German Brewery Museum is a must. So is a sit in the ‘Gasthausbrauerei Nolte’ where the tradition of the Lüneburger breweries lives on! But don’t forget the delicatessen for which this town is well known as well; try them with or without a beer.
Lets hire a car in Lueneburg and visit Bad Bevensen for a splendid thermal bath and relax before continuing your trip to the nearby bustling and historical city of Bremen. It is a must to visit the wonders of its 1200 year old history. Its treasures are all in the old town center such as the fantastic Bremen Cathedral of St. Peter with the terrific view from the spire over the entire city. Stroll through the old part with its numerous marvels and don’t forget to visit the ‘Schnoorviertel’ with its exquisite street rimmed old houses from the 15th till 18th century. Again, this is just a small sample of the whole.
