Car hire La Palma information
Of the Canary Islands, which belong to
Spain but are close to the southwest of
Morocco, La Palma is the one lying furthest to the northwest. The more than 86,000 people living on the island mostly make a living from agriculture, especially the cultivation of bananas, citrus fruits, vegetables and avocados. This also includes winegrowing. Other beautiful and popular islands in the Canaries which would be more than worthwhile touring in a hired car, are Tenerife and
Gran Canaria. Tourism on La Palma, referred to as “the beautiful island”, is starting to pick up again. Primarily visitors from
Germany, approximately 80 percent of all tourists, come to the volcano island and spend time doing things such as hiking, diving or going on hired car tours. That last one can be highly recommended. The entire island is part of a biosphere reservation and captivates with its unique natural scenery. Many plants exist only on La Palma and the other Canary islands. There is also great variety in plants. Besides lava fields, you’ll also discover laurel forests and dry vegetation on an extended trip by hired car.
