Car hire Canary Islands - Teneriffe information

Tenerife is the largest of the seven Canary Islands that belong to Spain, and is located off the North West coast of Africa. With close to one million inhabitants, it is by far the most populated Canary Island and is one of the busiest Spanish resorts attracting on average ten million visitors a year.
Top places to visit with a hire car
Tenerife caters as much to the clubber as it does the explorer. If the Tenerife nightlife is appealing, head to the south to the resorts of Los Cristianos or Costa Adeje for a vibrating party atmosphere. Or for an adventure, jump into a hire car and head north to the tallest peak in Spain – the Teide Volcano standing 3,718m tall. A cable car can take you to the top and on a clear day you can see the small island of
La Palma.
Getting to Tenerife
Tenerife is the only Canary Island that has two airports. The modern and busier airport – Tenerife Sur airport (TFS), also known as the Reina Sofia Airport in Grandilla, is the main airport for most international flights. The older and smaller airport, Tenerife North airport (TFN) mainly caters to internal flights from
Spain mainland.
