Gudja is a village near the Malta National Airport on the Mediterranean island of Malta. You can get a hired car here and then explore the entire island with its many places of interest. More than anything, not to be missed on your tour by hired car is the capital city of Valletta with its old fortifications, the Palace of the Grand Master and Fort Saint Elmo. Many of the (officially) 365 churches are also worth a trip. One of these is located right in Gudja: the famous, 500year-old chapel of Bir Miftuh (“open well”). Malta has been a member state of the European Union since 2004. Spain, Italy, France and England are also members, are beautiful holiday destinations as well, and are associated with Malta’s long history. Incidentally, Malta has one of the highest population densities in the world due to its small size and the great number of people living there.
