Friedrichshafen is the second-largest city on Lake Constance after Konstanz. Both cities are located near to Germany’s borders with Austria and Switzerland. Friedrichshafen became famous across the world as the production site of Zeppelin airships at the end of the 19th century. The Graf Zeppelin House, a cultural and convention centre, is a reminder of this part of city history and the large industrial companies also originate from this time as employers. Apart from this, Friedrichshafen is primarily of interest to tourists because of the airport. From here you can then go by hired car to Lake Constance.
