Car hire Bremen information
The Free Hanseatic City of Bremen is also the capital city of the federal German state that bears the same name. This is similar to the cities of Hamburg and Berlin that are also federal states. Approximately 550,000 people live in Bremen, making the city the second-largest in Northern Germany. Besides the harbour, the shipbuilding, steel and automobile industries are of major importance for Bremen. The aviation and aeronautics industry also has a firm place here. Bremen is also popular with tourists, because of the airport and the good Autobahn links. The city is the ideal starting off point for a sightseeing tour by hired car through Northern Germany, during which visits to cities such as Kiel, Lübeck or Rostock should of course not be missed.
Bremen itself has plenty of its own interesting attractions. A large number of theatres, museums and events of different types are what the visitor can expect here. Roland, a statue and the landmark of the city, stands at the Bremen Market Square. The town hall is also located here. The Hanseatic City was also made famous by the “Town Musicians of Bremen” fairy tale. The story is about a donkey, a dog, a cat and a rooster fleeing certain death and the adventures they live through on their subsequent travels. A statue is dedicated to them. Bremen has a lot more to offer and is certainly worth a trip!
