Car hire Bonn information

With a population of approximately 320,000 Bonn is not one of the biggest cities in
Germany, but after 2,000 years of city history is certainly one of the oldest. Once a Roman encampment, following World War II the city was at first temporarily and then properly the capital city of the Federal Republic of Germany. Berlin again became the capital city in 1990, but the seat of government remained in Bonn until 1999. Bonn is the birthplace of Ludwig van Beethoven. In his honour every year a music festival lasting just under four weeks takes place here, featuring many concerts and a music competition. Other well-known events are the Pink Punk Pantheon, an alternative carnival session, the Rhine Culture festival and the international Silent Film Festival. If you attend one of these festivities by hired car you’ll always have a good opportunity to also explore the area around Bonn such as the Seven Mountains. It’s also no problem to visit other cities such as
Cologne,
Aachen or Koblenz by hired car. Bonn has a great variety of sightseeing attractions. In addition to the old town hall, there are the Electoral Prince’s Castle and the Old Cemetery with the graves of many famous people. Added to this are many monuments and objects of art which are spread throughout the entire city. But they are all easy to get to by hired car.
